Message to the Class of 2020

Dear Students and Families of the Class of 2020:

Although it is now clear that a traditional in-person graduation ceremony will not occur next month, I want to assure you that plans are being made to honor the graduates of the Class of 2020. In the coming days, I expect to receive details from the District regarding a virtual graduation ceremony that will take place on or around June 11. Once the specifics are made available, I will share them with you.

April 12, 2020

Good Evening, John F. Kennedy Families:

Tomorrow, April 13, John F. Kennedy will officially begin distance learning. We realize that some families do not yet have access to a computer at home, and as you are likely aware, the District has yet to receive enough Chromebooks for all students. As soon as computers arrive, you will be notified.  In the meantime, any student with a smartphone can download the free Google Classroom app, which can be used to access any assignment.  Please know that if you do not have a computer or smartphone, teachers will find ways to work with your student in the coming weeks.

I hope that this e-mail finds you safe, healthy, and practicing physical distance but social closeness!

As we move ever closer to the launch of a District-wide distance learning program, I want to provide you with an update regarding the timeline for computer/Chromebook distribution to students.
