Teacher Appreciation Week

As we come to the end of teacher appreciation week, please join me in sending a bunch of thanks to the Kennedy faculty. Day in, day out, (and, sometimes under less than ideal circumstances), our teachers protect and prepare the youth, our country’s greatest asset.

Hats off to you, JFK teachers.

Today, teachers were treated to a lunch sponsored by ASB and catered by students in the Kennedy culinary program (under the direction of the talented Chef Morgan).

Athletics Hall of Fame

The inaugural class of the Kennedy Athletics Hall of Fame will be inducted on May 18. We are excited to recognize JFK’s many iconic athletes, coaches, and contributors and will celebrate those who have excelled, gone above and beyond, paved the way, set the bar, and proven to be the gold standard for Kennedy athletics.

The following individuals will be recognized for their athletic contributions to John F. Kennedy: Clifton West, John Braxton, Butch Metzger, Jan and Joe Matisco, Michael “Yogi” Stewart, Jody Hashigami, Keith Frostad, Greg Vaughn, Ernest Lee, and the 2002 women’s basketball team.

Class of 2019

Let me be the first to send congratulations on graduation! I look forward to seeing you on June 12 @ Memorial Auditorium.

In an effort to ensure families have easy access to all important information, Class of 2019 announcements and bulletins regarding end-of-the-year events (including graduation) are available here. Many of these documents you have undoubtedly seen, but please take a second look just to be sure.

As always, should you have questions, please feel free to email me, or call the school at (916) 395-5090.

Clarion Honors

Bravo, Kennedy student journalists, many of whom were recognized at last night’s annual Journalism Awards Dinner, sponsored by the Sacramento County Office of Education. Clarion writers from JFK received a whole host of honors. Please join me in congratulating Clarion Advisor Brian Gleason and his team of truly excellent writers!

If your student is interested in the journalism elective for 2019-20, there is still time! For full details, please contact the JFK Counseling Center.
